Point Piper Seawall repair

GPM was contacted to complete emergency works on a sandstone seawall in Point Piper, to prevent the existing seawall from collapsing into the Sydney Harbour

Project Description

Point Piper Seawall repair

GPM were contracted to complete emergency works on a seawall in Point Piper. The works were staged to ensure stability of the existing seawall and prevent it from collapsing.  Stage 1 works included the excavation of land behind the seawall creating a solid concrete footing to ensure a long life of the new wall, the use of ‘materials’ for sufficient drainage whilst works were completed and the use of a temporary barrier to prevent the existing lawn from collapsing. Stage 2 works included the installation of sandstone blocks, back-fill behind wall and all associated landscaping works.

The lack of road access meant all material and equipment deliveries were done via barge and for concrete pours to require a 50m long pumping line. GPM’s onsite crew worked around these barriers to complete the project and maintain the standards of Sydney Harbour.
