GPM were contracted to complete the restoration of a 63m metre long coloured concrete seawall in Kirribilli. Throughout the duration of the project the on-site team battled with tides and the minimal land access to site to complete this project successfully. Despite these challenges that GPM crew have done an exceptional job on the construction of the new seawall.
GPM worked in stages to complete the formwork for the coloured concrete wall to ensure stability of the wall and to minimise impact on the residents. The installation of formwork was the most challenging & time consuming aspect of the project due to tides & sea-conditions. The GPM crew created a wave break using blocks to reduce the impact of swell on the crew whilst drilling from in the water. There were two layers of concrete- the footing & the coloured section of wall- after 12 successful concrete pours, the wall was complete.
Once the concrete pours were complete the GPM crew completed works behind the wall- including stone masonry, installation of drainage systems & other associated landscaping works. GPM crew completed the project just shy of 10 months.
